Niektoré básnické zbierky a autori bavili už naše praprababky a obľúbené sú dodnes. Nie preto, že by sa s nimi každý stretol v škole v rámci povinného čítania, ale preto, že dokázali presne pomenovať lásku, smrť, strach, vinu či túžbu spôsobom, ktorý je aktuálny dodnes. Klasická poézia je základ, ktorý by mal poznať každý správny knihomoľ.
Skúste antológie alebo zbierky – ideálne pre úplný začiatok, pretože v jednej knihe spoznáte viac štýlov a smerov. Vyberajte podľa nálady – poézia má superschopnosť vyvolávať emócie, preto si vyberajte knihy, ktoré korešpondujú s tým, ako sa cítite alebo ako sa cítiť chcete. Neočakávajte, že všetko musí hneď dávať zmysel – skúste na chvíľu vypnúť racionálny mozog a nechať sa unášať. Poézia je často otázkou pocitu, nie logiky.
Poézia nemusí byť ťažká ani ťažko uchopiteľná – môže vás rozosmiať, upokojiť alebo nečakane prinútiť zastaviť sa. Ak vám doma stále chýba kniha, ktorá by zastupovala tento žáner, dajte šancu aspoň jednej z nášho výberu. A ak po prečítaní zistíte, že poézia nie je nič pre vás, aspoň si rozšírite čitateľské obzory a spoznáte vlastný literárny vkus.
