The distinctive endpapers have been adapted from Kaléidoscope, ornements abstraits (Paris 1926), a magnificent portfolio of Art Deco designs in the National Art Library at the V&A. French artists Ad. and M.P. Verneuil used the form of the nineteenth-century pattern book to create 87 different pattern templates for textile designers to transfer to fabric.
