Orhan Pamuk (1952) je turecký spisovateľ a držiteľ Nobelovej ceny za literatúru z roku 2006. Narodil sa v Istanbule, kde žije dodnes, a toto mesto sa stalo takmer mytologickým miestom jeho románov. Pamuk vyštudoval architektúru a žurnalistiku, no celý život zasvätil literatúre.
