This most recent body of his work from 2003, is now available in English. In "Mixed Messages", Sempe turns his attention to the trappings of modern life, mobile phones, designer water, as well as revisiting his favourite subjects, struggling artists, aloof psychologists and unhappy couples. Now in English by the "Asterix the Gaul" translator Anthea Bell, this book appeals to Francophiles, cartoonists, and the general public.
